Cuomo and Legislative Leaders Strike Deal on New Ethics Rules

This is certainly good news for New York politics as there will now be external oversight of the state legislature and lawmakers will be required to disclose clients who have business before the state. However, in order to get it passed, Cuomo gave the Senate Majority Leader veto power over investigations and all votes for or against investigations will be kept secret.
